Projects

The Dupont Lions have several projects going on at any time. A few examples of these are:

  • We help nurses screen students at schools in partnership with Lakewood First Lions throughout the DuPont, Steilacoom, Lakewood, and JBLM communities.
  • Helped restore the WWII memorial monument in the Historic Village.
  • We Provide dictionaries to 3rd grade students at Chloe Clark and Cherrydale Elementary schools every year.
  • Funded camp scholarships for special needs adults
  • Sponsored DuPont Parks and Rec Basketball scholarships for kids
  • We Partner with Lacey Sunrise Lions to build wheelchair ramps at homes.
  • We Sponsor a family in need for Christmas gifts and food.
  • We have helped several other charities in the area, most notably Caring for Kids.
  • We Assist with the day-long Annual 1843 Ft. Nisqually Site Celebration in DuPont.
  • In association with the DuPont Presbyterian Church, We run a city-wide food drive – over 6,000 pounds of canned and non-perishable food for the Food Bank collected every year.
  • Donated to the JBLM-Lewis Saturday Youth Bowling Program (A private run operation, not Army based)
  • We Collect eyeglasses at various sites throughout Dupont.
  • We help the city run the 4th of July event every year.
